It was one of the first places I visited in Japan โ and what a beginning! The heat made the climb intense, but the red gates of Fushimi Inari and the forest's shade made every step special. Between light, silence, and the sound of cicadas, Kyoto felt alive and unforgettable. ๐งก๐ฏ๐ต ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐๐ Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of Kyotoโs most iconic Shinto shrines, dedicated to Inari, the deity of rice, prosperity, and good fortune. Itโs famous for its thousands of bright orange torii gates that line paths up the sacred Mount Inari. Each gate was donated by individuals or businesses in gratitude or in the hope of blessings. The walk through the tunnels of gates feels like stepping into another world โ calm, spiritual, and deeply Japanese.
